Open the doors to history at the Castle of the Warmian Chapter!
It’s a must-visit in Olsztyn for history and architecture enthusiasts, as well as astronomy enthusiasts. The most famous resident of the castle was Nicolaus Copernicus, who served as the administrator from 1516 to 1521 and prepared the city’s defense against a Teutonic Knights’ invasion. His original astronomical tablet is preserved on one of the walls. Today, the castle houses the Museum of Warmia and Masuria.
